Tayler Berard Creative — Gear & Kit
Camera Bodies
Dual-body minimum on paid shoots — never one point of failure.
Primary
[Camera Body 1 — Canon R6]
I shoot with a Canon EOS R6 Mark, a professional full-frame camera known for its dependable autofocus, excellent low-light performance, and dual memory card slots for instant backup. It's a reliable workhorse that allows me to capture fast-paced weddings and events with confidence, consistency, and attention to every important moment.
Second body
[Camera Body 2 — Canon R6 III]
I also shoot with a Canon EOS R6 Mark III, Canon's latest-generation full-frame camera featuring enhanced autofocus, higher resolution, and exceptional performance in challenging lighting. It allows me to keep pace with fast-moving wedding days while delivering sharp, high-quality images that integrate seamlessly into a lead photographer's final gallery.
Lenses
Covers wide room coverage through tight portrait work.
Workhorse
[e.g. 24–70mm f/2.8]
My workhorse lens for weddings and events. Ideal for getting ready, ceremonies, receptions, family formals, and group portraits with the flexibility to adapt quickly throughout the day.
Portrait
[e.g. 85mm f/1.4]
My go-to portrait lens for couples, bridal portraits, and detail-focused images. Produces beautiful background separation and excels in low-light conditions.
Tele
[e.g. 70–200mm f/2.8]
Perfect for ceremonies, candid moments, speeches, and capturing emotion from a distance without disrupting the moment. Excellent for compressing backgrounds and creating flattering portraits.
Wide
[EF 16–35mm f/2.8L USM]
Primarily used for real estate photography, but also valuable for capturing venue interiors, large group photos, dramatic architecture, and wide environmental wedding images.
Lighting & Modifiers
Built to move fast between rooms and reception lighting changes.
On-camera
[Flash unit — e.g. Godox V1-CU]
Bounce flash for reception and low-light coverage.
Off-camera
[Trigger + Godox AD100]
Used with 45" softbox for group photos, portraits and headshots.
Modifiers & support
[Diffuser, bounce card, softbox, light stand]
Packed flat, deployed quickly when the situation calls for it.
Support & Transport
Straps
[Ruby + Rae dual-camera harness with cross body bag]
Hands-free carry for both bodies during full-day coverage.
Belt
[Spider dual camera belt]
Keeps both cameras securely at my hip for quick, one-handed access while reducing strain on my neck and shoulders. It's especially useful during long wedding days, allowing me to move comfortably, kneel, climb stairs, and navigate crowded spaces without a camera swinging in front of me.
Backup Equipment & Additional Gear

I don't photograph paid moments with a single point of failure. If it can't be recreated, it doesn't rely on one camera body, one memory card, one battery, or one lens. I always arrive with redundant equipment, including two camera bodies, dual memory card recording whenever possible, backup batteries, memory cards, and essential accessories to ensure I can continue shooting without interruption. I also carry a backup Canon 5D Mark II, backup speedlight, backup hot shoe-mounted video light, and a Westcott X-Drop backdrop system with professional reflectors for headshots, branding sessions, and on-location portraits. Whether I'm photographing a wedding, corporate event, or portrait session, I'm equipped to adapt quickly and keep the day moving smoothly if equipment fails or lighting conditions change.
