Fresh Lenses, New Chapter:
Relaunching My Business
Picture this: You’re twenty-something, fresh out of college, fresh out of photo school, and convinced you’re about to become the next Annie Leibovitz. You’ve got endless ambition, enough caffeine in your system to power a small city, and a portfolio you swear is groundbreaking.
But here’s the thing: I didn’t know any better. I knew how to shoot. I knew how to edit until sunrise. I knew how to make my friends look like indie album covers in portraits. What I didn’t know? How to build a business that actually worked for me, for my clients, or for the life I wanted.
The School of Life (AKA The Last 15 Years)
They don’t tell you in photo school that running a photography business is equal parts artistry, logistics, and customer therapy.
I had to learn things the hard way:
That contracts are not “optional.”
That saying yes to every gig leads to burnout, not brilliance.
That a client’s eyes are sometimes bigger than their budget and what they say they want isn’t always the same as what’s most important to them.
That sometimes, being a great photographer means being a timeline enforcer, a boutonniere pinner, or a dance floor hype person.
Along the way, I also detoured through the world of event planning, hospitality, and live entertainment. Think: herding groomsmen like cats, sourcing permits for massive installations, managing catering teams and troubleshooting accounting software. Honestly? All of that taught me more about people than a camera ever could.
Why Relaunch Now?
After 15 years, I finally understand the part no one teaches you: photography is about connection.
Yes, gear matters. Yes, editing styles change. But what people actually remember? How they felt in the moment.
This relaunch isn’t about looking trendy. It’s about being intentional. I want my business to reflect the lessons I’ve learned and the perspective I’ve earned—minus the cringey latte photos.
That means:
Mindful experiences. Slowing down, listening, and giving you space to actually enjoy the moment.
Photos that feel like you. Not stiff, not staged—real love, motion and the “in between” moments
A balanced approach. You get both the artistry and the organized chaos-tamer who keeps the day smooth.
Connection over perfection. Because your best photos aren’t flawless—they’re honest.
What This Means for My Clients
If you’ve landed here, maybe you’re planning a wedding, elopement, or live show. Maybe you need branding photos that don’t scream “stock image.” Whatever the case, here’s what I promise:
I’ll bring 15 years of lessons, failures, growth, and grit to make sure your photos are more than pretty—they’ll be meaningful. You’ll get someone who knows how to anticipate moments, calm nerves, and roll with surprises. You’ll also get someone who’s still got that twenty-something passion for creativity… just paired with a lot more experience (and better coffee).
A More Mindful Business,
A More intentional me
This isn’t just a relaunch of a company. It’s a relaunch of perspective.
I’ve traded the tilted horizons and latte portraits for photos that capture what matters most: love, connection, chaos, and joy. And I want every client who works with me to walk away not just with a gallery, but with an experience that felt effortless and true to them.
Because at the end of the day, you deserve more than “just photos.” You deserve photos that make you laugh, cry, and relive your story all over again.
✨ If you’re ready for photos that are intentional, meaningful, and maybe even a little silly (in the best way), let’s talk. Whether you’re getting ready to pop the question, tying the knot, throwing an epic event, or just want to look legendary in front of the lens—I’d be honored to capture it.
